What Is Conrad’s Concert

Conrad’s Concert was established in 2011 for two simple reasons. The first was to honor the memory of Conrad Guenzel...a truly one-of -a-kind husband, son, brother, father figure, and friend. The second reason was to raise money for various special causes that Conrad would have undoubtedly approved. The concept of Conrad’s Concert was the brainchild of Conrad’s brother, Chris, who bonded with his older brother over their passionate love of music. With the help of wife (Shannon, brother Grant, and other family and friends too numerous to list, the concept was turned into a reality in November of 2011. Since then, Conrad’s Concerts have taken place annually to raise money for various worthy causes.

Each event has featured great live music ranging from Chris’s own party rock band, Knuckle Monster, to local acoustic favorites (John Petrarca) to out of state rockers (The New York Rock). The events are intended to be a celebration of life and the lives of those loved ones we have lost way too young. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of friends and local businesses, there are always dozens of great raffle prizes at each event. These raffle items, combined with ticket sales that seem to increase every year, have enabled us to make some very significant donations to the following wonderful causes including:

1. The Yale University Smilow Hospital
2. The American Cancer Society
3. The family of Matthew Jacko (lost at the age of 9 to brain cancer)
4. The family of Jasmine Boden (for a Pittsburgh teenager bravely battling brain cancer)
5. Perfect Fit Canines (for a therapy dog for a severely autistic local boy)
6. Horses For Hope (a therapeutic horse riding organization for kids with special needs)
7. Christie Yachini Memorial Fund
8. The Veterans Place of Washington Blvd.
9. The family of Tony Cook (forever in our hearts… lost at the age of 15 to neurofibromatosis).
10. The family of Gracie Gorman (a valiant Norwin little princess who has battled leukemia).
11. The family of Matthew Stumme (a brave local teen who loves marching band and is a leukemia warrior).
12. The Veterans Place of Washington Blvd.
13. The family of Deshawn Baltimore (a 10 year old super fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins living with brain cancer).

100 percent of the funds raised at Conrad’s Concerts go directly to the causes. None of these donations could have been made without the wonderful friends who came out to these events to have a great time and raise money for these special causes. We thank you for your support and cherish your friendships.

Conrad’s Concert 12 - May 11, 2024

We are excited to share the two amazing causes Conrad’s Concert 12 will support in May! As was the case in 2023,
all proceeds from this year's event will go to The TonyStrong Foundation and the family of CeCe Roche.

The TonyStrong Foundation was founded in loving memory of Anthony Isaac Cook.
The mission of this incredible, non-profit organization is to benefit kids who share Tony’s passion for sports,
but who need financial support to help pursue their dreams.
Last year's concert helped raise money for the "Tony's Christmas Kicks" drive which saw TonyStrong donating 70 pairs of sneakers.
Local high school students who demonstrated good citizenship, being kind to others,
and giving their best effort were awarded a pair of kicks of their choice!

Cece is a beautiful and courageous girl diagnosed with a stage 3 wilms tumor (a form of kidney cancer)
in the summer of 2022. She has had surgeries to remove the tumor, a kidney, her gall bladder, and part of her liver.
After undergoing many rounds of chemo, a routine scan revealed the cancer had returned to her liver in 2023.
Cece started inpatient chemo in September and her 10th round starts on April 1st and will be followed by 14 rounds of radiation.
Last year, Cece's amazing family used some of the money raised for Cece to take her on her first beach
vacation where she got to experience the ocean for the first time!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has supported Conrad’s Concert through the years.
